Exciting things are happening in our DMS Science of Technology classes! Our 7th and 8th graders have been diving into PLTW Computer Science, exploring programming and working with microcontrollers. This week, they took their creativity to the next level by designing their own input devices using copper tape and aluminum! 🖥️⚙️ They're learning how different inputs work and discovering how technology responds to each one. Meanwhile, our 6th graders have been working through the PLTW Design and Modeling design process with their teams to create their own puzzle cubes. Last week, Mr. Keeling, Mr. Rehm, and Ms. Walter took on the students' challenge, working through as many puzzle cubes as they could—and we all had a blast! Way to go, DMS innovators and problem-solvers!

Over the past two weeks, students and faculty at Dardanelle Middle School have brought in food items for our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. Together, we collected just shy of 2,000 items. We were able to complete 22 food boxes, each one to be sent to families in our Dardanelle community. Additional items will be donated to the Sharing and Caring food pantry. We would like to give a big shoutout to all of our FBLA and Jr. Beta members for their assistance in collecting, organizing, and building boxes! We would also like to thank all those in our community who donated.

Ms. Killer and Ms. Watson's 6th-grade classes dove deep into their literacy unit- "Surviving the Unthinkable." After exploring incredible stories of people who overcame the odds to survive hurricanes, the students felt inspired to help those currently facing similar challenges. Eager to make a real-world impact, they organized a fundraiser, raising an impressive total of $508.90 between the classes. We are incredibly proud of these compassionate 6th graders and the meaningful difference they are making in people's lives in North Carolina!
